Picture this: you arrive by train at Utrecht Centraal, get off and join the crowd. People coming from everywhere and going somewhere. In their own world, in their own timeline. But you want to stand still for a moment.
You go outside, across the grey tiles of the station... and then suddenly you find yourself in the middle of a forest. You still, the conductor's whistle changes to the whistle of birds, in the distance you hear an acoustic guitar and a clear voice. It brings you completely into the now.
Walking among the trees, you feel that this is exactly what you needed. You sit down by one of the trees, close your eyes and smell the scent of spring and fresh, green leaves. You relax. The day slips away from you and you feel intensely happy.
This is what nature does to you. This is what trees do to you.
Forest Baths In Japan, they have a word for that, shinrin-yoku, which means forest bathing. They believe that nature is our best medicine. We return to our source by making the essence of nature part of our hectic city life again.
Besides their impact on us humans, trees are invaluable for the environment. Creating a forest in the city brings cooling and - in the longer term - cleaner air. Rainwater is better absorbed by the roots and space is created for new species of plants, insects and animals.
Come experience and join in So it's time to experience what greenery can do in the city! That is why Green Business Club Utrecht Centraal is transforming the Jaarbeursplein into a magical green oasis of over 60 trees in the middle of the petrified city. From April to September, there will therefore be plenty to do.
From sheet music to spar session On 22 April, the grand opening Of the Bomenbal. Seats2meet Utrecht has also adopted a tree. Do you have a great idea of your own that you would like to put under the Serendipitree want to organise, please let Sunny (from Seats) know.
